We turned more west where the Canal de Rhone au Rhin joins the Saone River. It was a nice ride along the canal and we joined Le Doubs in Dole.

Less headwinds today, especially along the canal, so we were able to make a bit better time.

There doesn’t seem to be any urban sprawl here in France, the cities and towns can end quite suddenly. We still hadn’t found lunch yet, when the city of Dole turned to agriculture. We had to turn back to find somewhere to eat.

We had planned to camp in Nenon, but when we arrived at the campground it was deserted, so we pushed on a few more kilometers to the municipal campground in the town of Orchamps. We’ve found the municipal campgrounds to be simple but inexpensive. The cost for tonight is 9 euro.
We’re having a bit of precipitation after some thunder, but it doesn’t feel like it will amount to much before it dissipates with the cool of the evening. No matter, we’re under the big tent provided by the campground with the other campers.

Loving reading your blog! We are taking turns with colds here as well, thanks to little Hazel. Hope you are feeling better soon!
I hope you all get better soon. I don’t think I have ever had a cold this bad in my life.
I vaguely recall you saying something about using Tylenol for when you were sick. Thank goodness I took your advice. So much sinus pain. I still have a few more days, then up hill 😉
