We decided to get our first hotel room in Montbeliard to have a bit of city time. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday, and almost everything was closed.
We’re staying at the Hotel de la Balance. It was highly rated on TripAdvisor, and the price was right as well as it being a bike friendly hotel. This means that there’s an area in the hotel where we can store our bikes. It’s locked to the outside, but we locked our bikes to the bike rack as well.
We were early getting into town, and check-in wasn’t until 3:00, but they let us put our bikes in the storage room so we could wander around the area.
It was a bit disappointing with everything closed, but with a bit of searching we found a boulangerie that was open, and bought a couple of baguette sandwiches.
