We had a great gradual downhill and mostly downwind ride to Koblenz. Riding group ride style the four of us were able to effortlessly maintain speeds in the mid to upper 20 kph range. It was good fun.

We’re staying in the same campground as we did last time we came through, in fact they still had us in their system, so check-in was quick.

Chris and Sarah went off to move their car down to Dormagen, where they plan to finish their ride with us. We spent our day wandering around Koblenz, starting with a ferry ride across the Moselle, and schnitzel for lunch. My old helmet was at the end of its life, so I bought a new one at a local bike shop. They had a wall of helmets to choose from, and the one I chose happened to be on sale. Chris liked mine so much she had to have one for herself. They appear to be well ventilated, which is important in the heat we’ve been riding in.

We all arrived back at the campsite late, and dinner was a mix of creative nibblies we all picked up on our way back.
