What a difference a day can make! The forecast was for the weather to cool down over night, but nobody believed it.

Yesterday we were sweating and trying to find shade, and today we were in coats and still cold. 19 degrees, burr! 9 degrees cooler today.

We started the day off by riding into Noordwijkerhout to check out the little town and get some groceries for dinner.

After lunch in Noordwijkerhout we headed back to the campsite to regroup and decide what we were going to do. We had planned to swim in the North Sea today, but the frigid change in the weather was making it difficult to get excited about the plunge.

The Netherlands has a lot of sand!

After some deliberation it was decided that just standing in the North Sea would count as going in, so we saddled up the bikes and headed for the beach.

The water wasn’t too bad, and could have gone for a swim. Too bad we didn’t bring our swim suits.

Note the jacket.
Followed by gelato at the beach of course.
